Experience
Throughout the 14 weeks, the most challenging part of this module was Task One. I felt quite exhausted because I had to change a lot from my initial research direction, especially during the literature review stage. I was confused at first when creating the literature matrix, but over time it actually helped me organize my sources and write my literature review more clearly. I also faced some difficulties during data analysis, as the data collected from my research methodology was limited, which made the analysis more challenging. In contrast, Task Two was more enjoyable, as I had a lot of fun designing the visual publication, especially the layout and cover design.
Observation
During the module, I noticed how important it is to have a clear research structure and well-defined objectives. I also learned that research is not a straight process and often requires adjustments along the way. The guidance and feedback from Dr. Mike helped me see research problems in a more professional and academic way. I also realized how helpful peer support can be, as my friends constantly reminded me about deadlines and task expectations, which helped me stay on track.
Findings
From this module, I learned a lot about academic writing, research planning, and problem-solving. I realized that I still need to improve my data analysis skills and learn how to create stronger research questions and objectives. Overall, this module helped me grow as a student doing design research, and it has prepared me better for future research projects.
