PROJECT 1 EXERCISE 1 - EEAAO Audio Dubbing

Sound effects

We were divided to a few groups consist of 4 people each and was told to make a shared google sheet file to look for the sound effects for this project.

I listed down what sound I will add to the video. Using Freesound  I looked for individual sound effects which Im going to use.

After importing the sound effects to Adobe Premier Pro, I realized there are certain files that cannot be imported to the program (aiff file), so all the aiff files I had, I look for the alternatives that is in a form of "wav" files.

Dialogue dubbing

Since there are dialogues in the video, we need to dub those as well. I recorded the speech using my phone and then export it into my google drive. This stage was pretty simple and straightforward but we need to make sure that the timing of our audio matches the video.

Premier Pro

To keep it simple, I imported all of the dialogue dubbing first and arranged it according to the video.

Then I need to adjust the individual dialogue to individual characters. For the husband I pulled down the pitch so my voice sounds deeper. For Evelyn (the wife), I turned up my pitch, and lastly, for the villain I adjusted the sound so that it sounds like an old lady.

And lastly, I arranged my sound effects and match it to the audio. I used several layers of audio to create a realistic sound effects such as using office noises/chattering and walking sound for the background sound.

PROJECT 1 EXERCISE 2 - Audio Editing

For this exercise we were told to record our voice and edit it to sound like :
  1. Voice of phone call
  2. Muffled / voice coming from inside of toilet
  3. Underground cave
  4. Alien / orc voice
In this task we will be using Adobe Audition. I followed the tutorial that Mr. Martin gave in teams meeting.

RELECTION

the overall experience of this was fun. It is my first time recording and dubbing. I had a lot fun looking for the audio for the sfx also. But it kinda is a bit frustrating cause Im not a fan of these types of edits. But it is really fun to learn and nice to know how to do these things
